The Southern Blue-Ringed Octopus (Hapalochlaena maculosa) can grow up to 20cm in length, and is highly venomous, capable of killing a human within minutes if alarmed.
However, they are not aggressive or confrontational, and injuries to humans have only occurred in cases where octopuses have been provoked or stepped on.
